INDIAN INSTITUTION OF INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING(IIIE) Founded in 1957, the Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering is a non-profit organization for the profession of Industrial Engineering in lndia consisting of members specialized in
the areas of Work Study, O & M., Production Planning & Control, Materials Management, Value Engineering, PERT/CPM, Operations Research, Computer Sciences, Financial Management, Statistical Quality Control etc. and other emerging disciplines. It has been espousing and contributing to Productivity, Quality movement and Cost Competitiveness and other emerging needs of Undertakings in the country during the last four decades.
The examinations are held twice in a year in January and July as shown below at various
chapters and non-chapter centres determined by the Board of Examinations.
For January Exam. / July Exam.
i) Application for Admission : 1st April to 15th September / 1st October to 15th March
ii) Application for Examination : 15th September to 1st November / 15th March to 1 st May
iii) Commencement of Examination: 2nd / January 2nd July
iv) Declaration of results : Third Week of March / Third Week of September
The Institution conducts Graduateship Examination as an external Examination for enabling candidates to qualify for GRADUATE MEMBERSHIP of the institution.
Age :
A person shall not be less than 18 years of age.
Qualifications :
* Has passed the Higher Secondary (XII standard). Examination under the 10+2+3 scheme of education, of a Statutory Board of Higher Education, the Intermediate Examination, recognized as equivalent thereto and has at least two years working experience in an organization.
* Is a Graduate in Arts, Science, Commerce etc. and has at least one-year working experience in an organization.
* Has a Diploma (3 year course) in Engineering/Technology and has at least one year working experience in an organization. If a candidate has undergone 1 year service training as a part of the course recognized by Board of Apprenticeship Training, Govt. of India, this will be counted as working experience.
* Has passed first two years of a regular degree course in Engineering / Technology.
* Holds a Degree in Engineering/Technology of a University in India or has passed an Examination recognized as Equivalent thereto.
A person shall not continue to be Student Member for more than nine years.
Note: A candidate should have experience in an organization as mentioned under (a), (c) & (d) after passing the qualifying examinations. Working experience should be exclusive of the period, if any, spent in training as part of the qualifying educational programme.
